  • Open Source Nerd - The personal website of a friend of mine. He has a great blog where he talks about Linux and other programming topics. It's even been Slashdotted!
  • Afternoon Snooze Button - My friend's awesomely funny and snarky Tumblr blog. She posts lots of funny pictures and commentary.
  • Aesthetic Octopus - The eponymous radio show's blog, which features lots of indie music as well as humor, interviews, and whatnot.
  • Mary - A blog about feminism and women's issues, run by William & Mary students.
  • Satsumabug's Art Blog - Satsumabug discusses her art and craft endeavors, with a look at her personal life as well.
  • Mini & Micro - My friend at U Penn discusses dorm cooking techniques and the food of Philadelphia.


  • Cute Overload - The most popular website for cute animal pictures on the Internets.
  • Fashion Indie - You can only really pick one fashion blog to follow. This is my choice.
  • OMG Posters - Everything about posters and prints. Often has excellent design inspiration.
  • The Dieline - This package design often has great inspiration and is just fun to browse.
  • Design Work Life - Excellent graphic design blog showcasing various works.
  • F--- Yeah Pokememe - A great Pokemon humor website.
  • Clients From Hell - Every graphic designer can relate to this website, or just be horrified.
  • Angus Whines - This guy consistently posts fascinating design/art related things.
  • Post Secret - People send in secrets on postcards which they have made themselves. Sometimes funny, sometimes profoundly depressing, sometimes lighthearted, and always thought-provoking.


  • Tiny Kitten Teeth - The artwork in this comic is wonderful, reminiscent of Golden Books. The story is pretty funny as well.
  • The Doghouse Diaries - A clever comic which discusses various real life incidences. I can often relate.
  • Abstruse Goose - Very nerdy and thoughtful, good for fans of XKCD.
  • Hark! A Vagrant - Amazing artwork and jokes which English and History majors will appreciate.
  • Buttersafe - This comic is so random and often leaves you wondering, or just confused.
  • Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal - Sometimes nerdy, but often hilarious. Also recommended for XKCD fans.
  • XKCD - A comic whose popularity is well deserved. The nerdiness, clever jokes, and occasional strips that make you go "awwww!" are amazing.
  • Questionable Content - If you enjoy indie music and nerdy jokes, you'll like QC. The characters are very well developed and likeable. I recommend starting from the beginning if you have the time.
  • Perry Bible Fellowship - Beautiful artwork and clever jokes make this one of my favorites. Unfortunately, it stopped updating a long time ago.
